Celebrating a Birthday
But not mine this time - as we just posted to the homepage, MindSay is now 5 years old! Check out the post for some fun facts and stats. Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible
Happy 4th Everyone!
I'm off to Atlantic City ... let the chips fall where they may!
Tim Russert
It was quite sad to learn of the sudden passing of Tim Russert today. At one point, not so long ago, I thought about a career in broadcast journalism (it was my major in college), and Russert truly symbolized the guy everyone in the field should strive to be like: completely objective, while always treating all of the issues and his interview subjects with proper respect. He also seemed like a really decent guy.
The Sunday mornings I'm actually awake for and this year's election coverage won't be quite the same without him.

How's MindSay Working?
Hey All - We're aware of the problems the site has been having recently. We think we've fixed them. Please let us know how the site is performing today in the comments and if you notice any problems ...
This Ride is Insane
On Saturday, I went to Hershey Park and went on this crazy ass roller coaster. It starts out by slowly taking you 90 degrees upwards, and then drops you rapidly down 90 degrees on the other side. It then proceeds to go extremely fast in several loops. Friggin insane. Any of you been on it before?
Yep, I'm 26!
As a few of you noticed (thanks for the comments! how did you guys know?) yesterday was my 26th birthday. I've always liked how rather than a pull-down menu, MindSay lets you write whatever you want for "age" in your profile. You can write "timeless," "age is just a number," "none of your business!" etc etc. For now, I think I'm just gonna leave it at 25
Spammers
We've had some pretty aggressive spammers hit the site over the past week or so. I thought I had deleted them on Friday, but then came back from the weekend to find out that they had returned under new accounts. In any event, continue to use the "Report Spam" link in the footer of all MindSay pages, or if it's really getting out of hand, just drop me an IM at adamjostrow on AIM, or send me an email - adam [at] mindsay [dot] com. Together, we can hopefully continue to keep this annoying a-holes off the site.

April Fool's: Success!
I don't think too many people believed the news was real, but yesterday's "news" that John Mayer was buying MindSay was at least amusing for most. Today's news that American Apparel is being sued is indeed real, however ...
My NCAA Tourney Weekend
I basically took a 4-day weekend to watch the first and second round of the NCAA tournament, the first two days of which were largely spent at a bar down in Fairfax, VA. While I could go into great detail about the games, I found a quote from ESPN columnist Bill Simmons that pretty accurately sums it up:
"Nothing unites basketball fans like hanging out in a bar and rooting against Duke."
In addition to the Duke/Belmont game, the Western Kentucky/Drake was one of the best in recent tournament memory, and it was absolute pandemonium when WKU hit the impossible buzzer beater in OT. Unfortunately, local team George Mason was out of their game within a few minutes of tip-off. Nonetheless, quite a fun weekend of great basketball.
I love March Madness! Best sporting event of the year, for sure.
