24 is just about the only show I make a point to watch every week, other than sports and news. So, needless to say, the two-day, four hour premiere is about as good as it gets for me when it comes to TV watching.
I was a little dissapointed on Sunday night - after the way last season ended, I assumed there would be a bit more follow up on why Jack ended up in China, and perhaps more of an adventure in getting him out of there. And the whole premise of sacrificing Jack to the terrorists was pretty ridiculous - everyone knows they're not going to kill him in the second hour of the show, so why even go down that route? And, what the heck is Kumar from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle doing in 24? I'm sorry, after appearing in that movie, it's hard to take him seriously as a bad ass terrorist. 24 does have a way of pulling random actors though - last year Rudy was brought in to run CTU for a few episodes before they killed him. Anyways ...
Last night's two episodes brought me back in and made next week's episode a can't miss. I won't ruin it for those of you who might have it on TiVo, but the ending was just the total over-the-top, plot twisting, insane action that you come to expect from the show. One of the things I like best about 24 is that every character (well, besides Jack) can be taken out at any time, and well, last night, they took one of the key players out. My only complaint now is that after four hours in two days, the rest of the season it's just one hour at a time, unless they have a special two hour night like I think they did once or twice last season.
