Last night I was invited to a corporate function at the Washington Nationals game. It was the first Nationals game I've been to, and actually my first baseball game in quite some time. Everything was free - the tickets, food, and beer, which made it especially enjoyable, but it seems like something I should do more often - given you can get seats for only $8, and if you wanted to could just pre-game in the parking lot so you don't have to pay ridiculous prices for food and (copious amounts of) drink.
The game itself was pretty exciting too. It came down to the 9th inning where the Rockies took the lead, and then the Nationals pinch hit for their cleanup hitter, who then hit into a double play on the first pitch - nice call manager.
The only downside of all this is that I live about 80 miles West of Washington DC, so it was pretty difficult to stay awake on the long ride home.
Anyways, that made for a good start to the week. The next adventure is Thursday/Friday of this week as I head to Atlantic City for my first time off in quite a while, in hopes of not repeating a rather unfortunate gambling episode from last summer (you can probably find it in my blog archives somewhere if you're bored enough to look).
