Changing Holidays

Wednesday or Thursday I'll head home for Thanksgiving.  This year a number of factors are making me feel kind of old for this holiday.  Growing up, and through most of college, Thanksgiving was a big event, where much of my family got together, I saw friends from high school, and maybe even went on a mini-vacation.

This year, my sister is overseas, my two best friends from high school in Colorado, my grandparents are all gone, and I have way too much work to think about taking a real "vacation".  I suppose this is what happens when you get older and people have their own lives and schedules and such.  Nonetheless, it makes me glad my parents and grandparents made such a big deal of the holidays when I was younger, since they become more and more difficult to pull together as you get older.

And those are my thoughts for Thanksgiving '05 ... have a happy holiday everyone!
