Add another B+ to my transcript, and another 3.0 to further lower my once pristine GPA. Not that I'm all that anal about my grades, but this one is frustrating. Apparently I didn't do great on the final (B-) but I got A's on both papers and the mid-term. What hurt me was class participation (B, 25% of grade). I ranted about this in earlier posts so I will spare you the full diatribe, but I hate classes that place such emphasis on class participation. Every lecture is filled with people who clearly haven't done the reading and don't know what they're talking about either copying other people or asking off-topic questions to appear interested in the subject matter. Yet these folks surely did better than me in participation because they were "more actively learning."

What crap. I wrote two brilliant papers for this class that clearly prove I grasped the material, yet because I choose to only participate in class when I have something of value to add, my grade suffers.

Sigh, I guess that's the way of the weasel. I'm dissapointed but I think I truly just want to graduate at this point and I'm not going to worry about the politics of academia.
