Good Start
It was a solid first day of work. I woke up at 5 a.m. as planned, handled some MindSay affairs, had breakfast, went to the gym, then off to work. Morning traffic sucked, but I guess I will just have to live with that until I move in a couple months.
The morning was spent in orientation, going over benefits, code of conduct, harassment policy, etc, etc. Then I went to lunch with my bosses, which was cool. They are definitely expecting big things out of me and ready to hand me a lot of responsibility, so I'll get a chance to prove myself early on. Everyone there seems really smart, motivated, and dedicated to the business, so it should be a great environment to start my career.
Although it was a solid start, I was friggin exhausted the entire day so I probably didn't come off as quick-witted as usual, oh well. I didn't fall asleep until 1:30 or so last night and it wasn't a deep sleep at all. Not sure what the problem was, I just wasn't tired when I lied down. Anyways, I should be in bed by the time I finish writing this entry, so that will put me on the sleep schedule I want.
On my way home I stopped to buy a blender to replace the one my roommate took home. My dinner was a ham and cheese sandwich, a protein shake, and some cottage cheese. How yummy. I think I can be expecting more low calibure dinners for a while, because I will just be too tired to cook when I get home. I also need to get myself a mini-cooler or something so I can bring in snacks/lunch to work, because the food options are pretty unhealthy in the area. I couldn't pass up a free bagel with cream cheese during my orientation, and then had a big chicken caesar salad for lunch. Not the right fuel there.
Overall pretty pleased with the day. I hope to be a little sharper tomorrow after a good night's sleep. Later folks.
