Graduation
Finally done with graduation stuff. It was great to see my family and I'm especially glad my grandfather could make it, as he is almost 90 years old and needs a lot of help getting around.
The ceremonies themselves were rather boring, especially the campus-wide commencement. Tom Ridge gave a good speech, but the President of the university rambled on forever and the student speaker was awful. If I cared enough, I'd go back through my e-mails and see how the heck we chose such a bad student speaker.
In any event, my family got in Wednesday. We went out to dinner at their hotel the first night, then the next evening was commencement which we followed with some champagne back at the hotel. Friday was journalism school graduation, which was a little more interesting and personal (they announced our names individually), which we followed by going into DC for some excellent food and drink.
My parents, grandfather, and sister were also incredibly generous with their graduation presents which was rather overwhelming. A very good but exhausting few days. I fell asleep about 5 minutes after getting home last night, so I woke up at 6:30 this morning.
Today was probably like the rest of the week will be: pretty dull. I went to the gym to shoot around in the morning, then bought my groceries, then came home and did laundry. Out of boredom I went back to the gym just a few minutes ago to lift weights. There aren't many people around, so I imagine the rest of the week will be pretty boring as well, but I have a long list of things that I'd like to get done anyways.
