I need to learn more about cars.  Right now my car is in the tire shop, getting new tires.  After investigation, they also said I need new brake pads.  Although this is probably true, how would I know?  When they asked me what type of tires I wanted, the only brand name I could think of was Michelin, so that's what I asked for.  Then they tacked on a waranty that I blindly accepted, even though I have no idea how I'd even use it if I need to. 

After sitting around for two hours, they drove me back home in the "courtesy car."  Who knows what new expenses they'll hit me with next.

The funny thing is, I love cars, at least in terms of aspiring to drive nice ones, long road trips, and keeping my car in respectable condition (although I could use a lot of touch-ups at the moment).  I just don't know a damn thing when it comes to the details on what's inside.  Maybe it is a metaphor for me being an evil and superficial person ...
